Hey guys, my boxer had her front left leg amputated due to osteosarcoma 2 weeks ago. She is doing great, but the only thing that I've noticed is that she is excessively urinating all day long. She has been house trained for 9 years and never gave us a problem with this. At first, she was on an anti-inflammatory so I know thats what started it all, but even after shes been off, it continues. Has anyone dealt with something like this? TIA!

Did not have that issue with my Happy Hannah, so not much nelp.
What kinds of test has your vet done for UTI or other bladder/uri ary issues? Blood work? She hasnt had chemo, right?
Is she in any other meds? Was the anti inflammatory Rimady?
Sounds like it is a separate issue from the amputation itself.....possibly?
But yeah, I woukd DEFINITELY have a vet check her out if you haven't already done so.
They shoukd be able to isolate the cause and get her the proper treatment.
Keep us posted!
Hugs!

We have recently dealt with exessive urination with my Dobe Nitro too....but his case was much different than yours. He developed severe incontinence due to the chemo drug cytoxan. I'm talking oceans of urine; the floor, couch, our bed, you name it. It got so bad I was convinced he had kidney/bladder cancer. He had extensive testing done, including UA, culture, ultrasound, x-rays. It took roughly 9 months of diapers and much distress, but his kidney function appears to be back to normal. We did/do acupuncture, and changed his food to Hills K/D.
Sorry this is a long, drawn out post.....and most likely has nothing to do with why your girl is having her issues. I hope you find out the cause, as I know how frustrating excessive urination is.
