Oh my gosh Patty, you are terrific, there's no patience involved with you. We think you're fabulous for being so diligent about learning about the Tripawd lifestyle.

There's no "average" recovery time because all dogs are different. "In general" we like to say two weeks is about the time when their sparkle starts coming back but that is a very rough guideline. Just like all people are different in how they handle pain, react to drugs, etc. dogs are too.

Welcome Clover!  How wonderful of you to add her to your pack!  How did your vet visit on Saturday go?  She sure has a beautiful face!

Her vet visit went well she is healing great! Her only health issue is that she seems to have a food allergy so we are working on figuring out what food will work best for her needs. She is going to start working with an in home trainer on Saturday to help her with some resource guarding behaviors. We want her to learn good habits and that this her furever home.

You are so on top of everything! She's very lucky to have found you.

I've had problems with resource guarding, too- the good news is that most dogs can learn to get past it with some help. I'm sure your trainer will have resources to offer you, but I like to read Patricia McConnell's writing on the subject to remember I'm not alone. I also love her book <a rel="nofollow" href="
