Today is 5weeks out from surgery for Beamer and is doing wonderful.  He as accomplished things i thought he would never do again.  I am so proud of him.  He has mastered his doggie door with 3 legs, learned to hold a bone with one foot and started to horse play with his brother.  I used to fuss and make them go outside to horse play but today i was tickled to tears to see them romping around in the house.

Beamer has his 2nd chemo this weeks and we are crossing our fingers it goes as well as the 1st.  I am pretty sure he did not even know he had the 1st one.

Thank you all for your pawstive words when our journey began.  you all told me it would get better and it has. When you are in the darkness of the beginning it is so hard to cope and believe but with your help we made it.  i know we may still have hurdles, but to see my beloved Beamer enjoying life as he once did is enough for the moment.

Excellent update! Way to go Beamer! The beginning of the journey is quite stressful for the humans, I think it is far more difficult for us to adjust and accept things will return to a new form of normal.

Wonderful news!  Funny how this journey makes you 'tickled to tears' over something that you used to take for granted.  Keep enjoying every single moment!

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Happy 5 weeks Beamer!!

It is true that some of those behaviors we didn't like in our quadpawds are now celebrated when our tripawds do them!  Glad to hear he is doing so well.

Hooray for Beamer! Treats all around to celebrate 5 weeks!

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Hey Beamer, let's see a video of you going through the doggie door. Did you have any challenges figuring out how to go in and out?

Hoppy Ampuversary!!! Sorry I'm late to the pawty.
