Today i am taking our 9yr old staffy to the vet he is having issues breathing not too much but enough for me to worry and he just isn't happy. Heres the background story.

I took Sarge to the vet 3 months ago as his stomach was out of shape and he was very lethargic this all happened very suddenly. They x-rayed him and couldn't really see much but thought there was a blockage there somewhere so opened him up to see what was going on, they removed a 2.6kg (5+lb) tumor out of his abdomen it had been growing lenghtwise and no one had noticed even the vets (and he was there farly often with various problems), turned out that it had turned and severed the blood vessels - he was litterally bleeding out this is the only reason it was noticable. They offered to do x-rays of his lungs to see if it was cancer and had spread, but he woke up before they had a chance so we decided to get them done at a later date. after having a good look at the tumor they thought it didn't look like cancer and we couldn't afford they cost of getting it tested. a week later Kayla broke her leg so we forgot about getting the x-ray of his lungs done in all hat was happening. So here we are 3 months later and so scared.

Please keep my precious baby in your thoughts today. He is so special to us, the kids have grown up with him and love him to bits, he is one of those dogs who worm their way into your heart and stay there.

Sarah, Kayla and Sarge!!

Ps Sorry if I have rambled but my brain ain't quite working right this morning.

Oh I know how worried you must be! My kids have grown up with our Dogs too. They are such an important part of our family. I am praying for Sarge and your family. Hoping that he turns out to be ok. This stuff is so stressful. I have had a string of bad events also so I know how you feel. Best of luck to you!

Sending hugs to you and prayers for Sarge.  You've certainly had a few months.  Hoping the xrays are clear (assume they are doing xrays...)

fingers crossed for a positive visit

Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011

Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011.  Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs.  If love alone could have saved you…

Sending pawsitive thoughts your way for good news on Sarge!

Keep us posted,

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Happy dance, happy dance, happy dance. Went really well at the vet - she is extremely certain that the tumor was a fatty freak of nature and wouldn't have spread at all cause of where and how it was growing. Sarges lungs sound nice and clear, no fluid, heart mummer etc. So at this stage we are putting it down to old age kicking in, just have to keep and eye on him.

All those positive thoughts must have worked - Thank you all.

What a wonderful update! And here we are celebrating fat again, well at least a fatty tumor!
Very glad to hear that all is well.
