Our story> We fostered dogs for the National Mill Dog Rescue and recieved 'Cinco' back in April of 2012. He was about 2 months old and so cute. He had 2 right front legs and was not really using them. We left him at the Lone Tree Veterinary Medical Center, just south of Denver, for a week of study.

They completed a thorough exam with extensive x-rays, and let him have the run of the place to see how he was getting around. The decision was made to remove the legs and most of his shoulder. The operation was on Friday and he was up and walking around the next day. We brought him home on Sunday, and formally adopted him on Monday. My wife did not want any name reflecting the number of his legs. so the renaming process started with 'Ninja', then finalized with 'Ace'.

That was almost 2 years ago and Ace is a pretty typical Lab, having eaten just about everything inside and outside our home during this time. Fortunately, this behavior has slowed down a bunch. At our dog park, he can keep up with other dogs, running up and down the hills and through the trees. I am constantly amazed by his strength and balance.

He loves our other dogs> Koda- Norweigan Buhund and Fergie- a Chi/Pom mill rescue.
