Hey everyone today is Sassy's 2 month ampuversary.  I had been just doing all updates under her 30 day one and trying to get the blog caught up but this is a special one.  She is doing awesome.  Getting to go on her rides on the weekends and getting around when we had snow (which most has melted now but some ice).

Chemo on the 2nd one we had a few rough days following as she lost her appetite and got sick once was fine when I left to go out to dinner but came home and she had gotten sick.  :(    Learning experience but Cerenia to the rescue.  She does sleep a lot after her chemo & drink more water.

Thanks for being a great support system  :)   One day at a time kicking the ugly "C" butt :)

Happy ampuversary, Sassy!  Don't let that old chemo put a damper on the celebration.  You're doing a great job.

You didn't mention, Michelle, but if Sassy isn't getting an injection of Cerenia prior to the chemo, you can ask for it. It helped Trouble a lot, kept the nausea and tummy upset to a minimum and for only a few hours.  I did have the Cerenia pills in case I needed them.  They can still be give even though they have had the injection.

I didn't know they had a Cerenia injection.  They just gave us the Cerenia pills.  Maybe I will ask this time when we take her in.  Thanks for letting me know that :)

Yep, we had the Cerenia injection, also.  After the first chemo (w/ no injection) he threw up.  Starting with the second chemo the vet would just give the injection at the beginning of the appointment and we never had any further problems.  Good luck!

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Wahhooo!  Congrats, Sassy!  Way to stick with the chemo and fight cancer back to where it belongs.  You're doing so well!!!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Happy 2 month ampuversary Sassy!! So happy for you-keep kicking cancer's butt.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Happy (belated) 2 months, Sassy! Keep up the good work!

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

I thought I would share Sassy's new game.  When she doesn't want to go back inside this is what she does.  All I can do is stand there until she decides its time to get up.  LOL  This was Wednesday afternoon.
