My husband and I have rescued two Shiba Inu dogs through SIRA (Shiba Inu Rescue Association). Our first Shiba, a wonderful dog named Yoshi, came to us at age 11 and died about 9 months later from an aggressive melanoma. We adopted Michi, a 2-year-old female, back in March and are about to get a 7 month old tripawd who is Yoshi's grandson! His mother bit off one of his front legs shortly after birth. He's adorable and fast and we can't wait to welcome him to our family.
