I have a wonderful 6 year old Rottie named Schultz. At new years eve, the door bell rang and he tried to get up and then started screaming in pain. We took him to the emergency vet and found out his back leg had shattered like a chicken bone. We had to wait till after the holidays to get him looked at, and it was confirmed that he had bone cancer and had to loose the leg. Thanx to family we where able to cover the amputation and the following Chemo treatments at Guelph. He was doing fine with his three legs going on life as normal till about three weeks ago. We initial where told that he could have hurt his back leg, but it progressed from there to it being completely lame. He then lost control of his bowls and bladder. Our vet confirmed it was neurological but as to what caused they did not know. We where told and xray really was a slim chance of showing anything and the best shot would be a contrast xray or better yet an MRI.
So we started a massive fund raising campain to come up with the 2000.00 we are going to need for this test. So far we have been able to raise over 1200.00 and have his test booked for this Thursday. On a good note feeling has returned to his foot and if tickled or poked will now move. Also bowel movements have returned to him as well.. so this is our Odyssey.
