Hi, my name is Avery Jude and I am a 28 year old non-binary individual living with chronic pain and CPTSD. I adopted a toy poodle, Amos, back in February of 2023 to help with my mental health, and also saved an even smaller toy poodle, Mouse, from the same litter. I think I needed Mouse as much as she needed me. She is teaching me self compassion, that I too deserve to exist despite my own disabilities and circumstances, and she is showing me how to Be more Dog about things in my life that I cannot control.
