Take some deep breaths....yes, to witness this first 24 hrs is really stressful. Remember, part of what you are seeing is her shaking off the anesthesia (no fun to watch) and being still a bit disoriented because of the strong hospital meds in her system.
A little tiny bit blood leakage is not too worrisome at this point, If it gets more than just a little, is red and has puss, etc, then it needs to be addressed.
So she actually attempted to get up?? She's a feisty gal!!
My Happy Hannah whined and cried and was sooo restless the first couple of nights. And this was after staying one full night at the clinic!!
Keep working on getting the meds in her. Try not to stress as Seat least still has some good hospital pain meds in her system.
It'll get better, PROMISE!!!
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Heather, I know it's hard, we totally get it. I'm so sorry. Recovery can feel so overwhelming! All you can do is take things one step at a time, one hour at a time. She sounds like such a strong girl, which is really in her favor because she is going to rock this thing once you all get your bearings. And if she managed to relax and sleep after she fell that is a good sign!
Have you seen this video about how to pill a dog? Sounds like manually pilling her is the way to go if she will allow it. I didn't like the feeling of "forcing" my dogs to take pills either but sometimes you gotta do what what you gotta do for their benefit. Take a deep breath and be strong, you can do this!

How is she today? Any better?
