Roman has a small (maybe green pea or smaller) crusty bump on his back leg, its not red just kinda flaky. I noticed it because he licks it occasionally, its been there for months I think? He doesn't like it when I mess with it, I'm assuming its painful? It feels like its only on the skin and not underneath. Does this sound familiar to anyone? way-confused

Gosh, sorry - I don't have any ideas!  Maybe someone else will.

But here's hoping that Roman doesn't have anything serious!

Hmmm....sounds like it could be a fungus. I'm not a doctor, but we've had experience with ringworm, which sounds like what you described. But ringworm is flat, you're saying this is raised? Hmmm. Have you tried putting anything like aloe vera on it?

Next time he goes to the vet, have them take a scraping. It's a cheap way to find out what's going on (usually!).

Haven't been to the vet yet. But my plan is to drown it in fresh aloe this week and see if it helps. It doesn't look like ringworm, it seems very benign(except for the licking and sensitivity to touch) and has barely grown if at all since I noticed it.....

Hmmm. Sure, why not try it! At least if he licks the aloe it won't harm him.
