Our amazing cat Oscar has had a 2nd occurrence. of Spindle cell Sarcoma in same spot and our new oncologist has recommended full amputation of the front left paw. We are hesitant because we don't know if his quality of life will be the same (he is 15.3 yrs but healthy) or if letting him pass over the rainbow bridge is the most fair to him. Any suggestions regarding how anyone made their decision will be appreciated

Hi Oscar and family, welcome. Your future posts won’t need approval so post away!

Sorry you are facing this situation. it’s a tough one for sure, especially when you have a senior animal. But it sounds like your vet thinks Oscar is a good candidate for surgery, which is terrific!

How do you feel about it? Do you think Oscar has it in him to bounce back? What do you think he would say? Is he young at heart? Most cats do very well, far better than we think they will. When it comes to age, it really is just a number.
