Yay for Asia! It's always relieving when they make it through just fine. Let us know how she is when you pick her up tomorrow.

Yay! For me that was the hardest part. Now rest up!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Hooray for successful surgery! Yes, good to rest up as much as possible before Asia comes home!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Congrats on a successful surgery, and definitely get in a good night's sleep!

What great news. Im so happy for you. I bet you cant wait until she is back home with you. I know this has been repeated several times here, but get a good nights sleep. I called the vet before I went to bed and checked up on her. I got the best nights sleep knowing she was being well taken care of and doing well. Let us know how she is when you pick her up.

Great news! I'm wishing for a completely uneventful recovery and back to her old self in no time. Keep us posted, please.

Getting the surgery behind you is a huge step. Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery.
Don't forget to rest when he rests. A tired human is not a good thing.

We're all home. Asia was VERY happy to see us and we were even happier to see her. We were told she has been eating and drinking lots of water and is in really good spirits. She seems to be in much less pain than she was two days ago. We got her into the car and went back into pay the bill. When we got back into the car, she was standing up looking out the window ready to go for a ride. That was great to see.
We had a pretty good snowstorm yesterday, so I shoveled a good sized area for her to take care of her business. Of course she wanted to tromp around past the shoveled area and into the 8 inches of fluffy wet snow, dragging me with her. She seems back to her old self, burrowing her nose in the snow. She is able to stand up on her own, but is not real fond of walking (as to be expected)
One funny story I have to share... When the doctor (who is a great friend of mine since high school) called me yesterday, she was not very happy with Asia. She told me that my dog smells really bad. I was confused at first, until she explained that in their tiny operating room, Asia passed gas throughout the 3 1/2 hour surgery, and they even had to leave the room a couple times it was so bad. I felt bad, so I brought the staff lunch today that I picked up from a restaurant of their choice. That's Asia!
She just got comfortable enough to take a nap. Think I might join her. I have to say, yes, this is the best xmas present ever!!!!!!
Glad you got your pup home safe and sound.
I wanted to let you know that Asia might begin to self-medicate with snow. Dakota certainly did. Nature's ice pack, I guess. He would sometimes lay down after doing the potty business and cool his shoulder. Just be aware of that in case you think Asia's being naughty if she's pulling you into the snow. She might actually be looking for that comfort.
