Last week while running around the beach, our 8 year rottie Dino started to limp. After an xray at the vet the results showed what looked like osteosarcoma on his left front wrist. Still barely noticeable size wise. The day after tomorrow we are taking him to the oncology department of the veterinary university in Munich. I've spent the last two days researching this matter (between tears) and it looks like he is going to have a tough time ahead. He is still a happy dog with a zest for life other than the limp. If anybody can chime in in the his time of great pain and difficult decisions, please chime in. It will be much appreciated. Unbelievable that this was him just three days ago. http://youtu.be.....fUeDsBFweM

Hi Dino's pawrent

Welcome to tripawds.....the Club that no one really wants to be a member of!

My ten year old lab, Tucker, had his right front leg amputated seven months ago due to an invasive but localized sarcoma so the path that lead us here is a bit different than the one that osteosarcoma presents.

I will let others who have more experience with osteosarcoma "chime in" but I do want to encourage you to come here to vent, ask questions and get the support you need.

Many hugs

Linda and Tucker

Hi DINO!

You are a very, very, handsome boy!!

I Know this is so scarey and you feel like you are stuck in a nightmare. B R E A T H E! You are ot aolne. We are all here with you!

My computer is not working very well so I'll write more later.

Remember, Dino doesn't kow he's "sick" and he's ot worried avout a thing.

should he need his leg amputated, once recovery takes place he will be pan free and livimg life to the fullest! The fact that Dinomis so vibrant andjas such a zest forlie are all veryimportant traits to have! We have a lot of Rotties here who have done very well with amputatin andjave jad wonderful quality time tobe loved and spoiled and get lotsof tummy rubs! No dogjas a time frame stamped on his butt!

Michelle, who was owned by Sassy overcame all sorts of challenges but never let a ife on three legs slow her down one bit.

We all understand the fear...do your research, stay connected to us...eat chocolate...lots of chocolate...and we'll help pull you through.

Sendingnyou lots of hugs.

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Hey Dino and family, welcome. We're sorry about the diagnosis, many of us have coped with the same kind of situation; healthy and strong one minute, an amputation surgery scheduled the next. It can make your head spin.

But the good news is that Dino CAN go on to live a very great, hoppy and athletic life after recovery! Take a look at our <a href="
