Just wanted to chime in. I decided chemo was not right for Brownie for many reasons. The vet gave him 3 months from diagnosis with amputation only. He is now beginning his 6th month.
The "Dog Cancer Survival Guide " is a great book with good fighting cancer recipes and tips. I also give Brownie K9 Immunity to boost up his immune system. It seems to give him a little more pep. You can find them both on this site.
Brownie always saids "belly rubs are much better as a tripawd"
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!

Awwww. Great to hear that about Brownie! Thank you to everyone who has posted and offered their experience, advice and support. I did call the vet today because Chloe's dressing was saturated and starting to smell. She also has a little bright red blood in her stool. After reassurance and instructions from the vet I felt much better. I took the dressing off, cleaned her up and put some diapers under a t-shirt to catch the fluid coming out of the drains. She gets hot so easily but I can tell she feels so much better and is much calmer now. I think that dressing is the reason for our very rough night. She's resting and we see the vet tomorrow. Any suggestions about keeping dressings in place?
Has she always gotten hot easily? I told brownie's vet about how he gets hot easily and she recommended the "cool diet" instead of beef and chicken he gets Turkey. And believe it or not, it does help. Texas summers are hot, so he also has his personal floor fan.
GET WELL SOON CHLOE!

It kinda depends on how well the vet nurses apply them in the first place. You can also minimize the risk of undoing them, by keeping movement to a minimum.
Congratulations to Chloe on graduating from this forum! Now, she's in recovery so feel free to put further updates in Treatment and Recovery, or even Three Legged Cats forum if you'd like. How's she doing today?
