Hi Molly,

I also got my kitties after college (noticing a theme here!) and was devastated when Sebastian developed a tumor.  We went to the vet thinking he had just hurt himself (his shoulder looked sooo swollen) and were absolutely shocked to hear he had cancer.  There were lots of tears and it was really hard, but it's been 10 months and it's like Sebastian always had 3 legs.

There's a saying that floats around Tripawds, "You're not doing it TO him, you're doing it FOR him."  Remember that - you are just doing what you have to do to make sure your cat lives a long healthy life.  And somehow they understand that.  Mister knows you love him and are taking care of him.  Try to stay positive, even though it's hard, because he'll look to you for how he should feel.  The more confident you are, the more confident he'll be.

That being said you can totally go all crazy momma and make sure he is comfortable.  My vet let me bring in blankets and tshirts and a bed for Sebastian so that everything would smell and feel like home.

Let us know how everything goes

Jenn & Sebastian
