Im so happy to hear that your visit went well. Yeah!!! for clean xrays and a vet that supports your decisions whatever they may be. It always a comfort to have a vet that cares about your fur baby as much as you do.
You have a little time to think things over which is good. Also what ever you decide it will be out of love so there are no wrong answers.
Big hugs ❤
Hugs ❤ Bev, nurse Moe cat, Autumn's Angel Roane & Angel dog Gypsy 🐾
My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
So glad you and Jack had such a good experience with the Holistic Vet. And good xrays?? YAY!!!
We know you are emotionally drained. It's clear how close you and Jack are and how you want only what's best for Jack❤ Sit down with Jack in a quiet and peaceful place. Just "be" with him. No words. You know Jack better than anyone. What would Jack want?
As everyone has said, we support you whatever path yoj take. A decision out of love for Jack is always the "right" decision.
Hugs

We dropped him off around 7:30am. My hubby broke down in the car after he walked out. 🙁 My stomach is a crazy upset mess already today and I am at work. He will stay the night and be picked up tomorrow. Vet hospital is staffed til about 2200 and the vet actually has cameras on the hospital patients and he can observe any activity from home and come in if needed. I will update when I get an update! Thanks all!
Good luck! it is for sure agonizing waiting for word that the surgery is done. Sending all kinds of pawsitive vibes your way! And like Sally said, get some good sleep tonight, so you are fresh and rested for when you pick him up.
Paula and Warrior Angel Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
"Be good, mama loves you".....run free my beautiful Warrior
We are sending lots of love for an easy surgery and recovery! Try to remember to breathe, Jack is going to surprise you with the way he rebounds.
How cool that your hospital has the video cameras, I love that! May I ask what hospital is doing the surgery?
Also, be sure to update us in Treatment and Recovery when you post again. We'll look for you there!

Wow they look like a great practice! What I especially love is this:
The Bortell Animal Hospital operates an open hospital. This means that our team welcomes owners to be with their animals during routine examinations.
I was just reading about open hospitals, it's such an awesome concept. I hope more vet clinics will move this way soon.
