Does anyone have experience here with hemangioma? I went in with my vizsla today to get what I thought was a subcutaneous cyst removed and the vet told me that it was actually a tumor. He seems to think it is benign but I am driving my self crazy reading. He has not signs or symptoms. The only thing he had was a very very small black spot under his right front arm. No palpable masses in the abdomen, decreased anything, nothing. Any one who can guide me would be of great help........
Well, while I do not have experience with hemangioma, I do have experience with hemangiosarcoma......hemangioma is definitely a benign occurrence in canines as well as humans. I am leaning on the side of positivity for this new tumor you have found on Mason, but reserving a small part of myself toward caution. The tumor itself can be many things, harmless and not so harmless. Does you or your vet want to biopsy this new tumor, or just wait it out? If you are anything like myself, I always want to know what I am dealing with, that way a plan of action can be decided on much sooner, or breathe a sigh of relief. I am definitely hoping for you breathing a sigh of relief.
Keep us updated on Mason, and what you may decide for him.....

Hey Bonnie,
it was removed today. It was extremely small and he feels confident he got clean margins and it was benign. So small that he thought it was a cyst. no other tumors, lesions, or masses to speak of. Waiting for biopsy, but its like watching paint dry!
Needless to say, I'm a mess. Everything i read is scaring the shit out of me.
Great news that this tumor was removed and that your vet believes it to be benign, they can generally tell, and yeah, the waiting for biopsy reports are excruciating....But NO more reading anything off the internet, lol !!!!! I was just reading a post on facebook today from a friend that said, " If you're not feeling well, the best place to go to convince you, you are dying, is the internet" !! Seriously, we have all had our fair share of trying to make ourselves feel better informed, or knowledgeable, but it does the opposite. The first thing my Polly's oncologist and his vet assistant asked me to do, was STAY away from the internet, and I honestly did. I wanted to put all my positive energy into helping her fight the cancer she had, and not be terrified every step,of the way because of reading stuff on Dr Google.
As Sally and many others will tell you, take a deep breath and try not to worry until you have something to worry about....in sweet Mason's case, I am truly keeping positive for him and you, and that you will get good news soon.
Let us know when his results come back when you can, and keeping good thoughts till then ...
Love,

Codie Rae had a hemangioma, we had it removed, and it was B9! Everything I have read says that they are benign cutaneous tumors. Hang in there and try not to worry until you get the biopsy results back. I know its hard but try and emulate Mason. He's like What, me worry?
