Also has anybody used the supplements: K-9 Immunity or Armor up?

Ah yes definitely. This is a great topic for our "Eating Healthy" forum so please do continue by posting over there. In the meantime you can check out our K9 Immunity information in the Tripawds Nutrition blog.

Armor-Up is a big improvement over K9 Immunity in our opinion. But to find out for ourselves, we are currently giving our Wyatt Ray a trial run with it and will have a full report soon. Meanwhile you can also read about Armor-Up here:

Smiley's surgery went well yesterday.  I get to pick her up today.  I haven't seen her yet because we live 2 hours from clinic.  The removed several tumors and one of her lymph nodes.  I called this moring and they say she's smiling and doing well.  Will update after I get her home and have some time with her may be a few days.

Thanks everyone.

YAAAAAAAAY!  SURGERY IS  DONE!!!  AND SMILEY IS SMILING (and high as a kite on pain meds)!😁😁😄

Wh3n you fompock Smiley up, don't  even bother to  look at the  incision! Smiley will be looking at your smiling face telling her what a food firl she is and she's going  home 😎

STAY CONNECTED!  Recovery isn't  easy.  This is major surgery and it's not  a pawty for a week or two!  We'll help ypu navigate through this, okay?

Drinking  and peeing  are  important .  Don't worry about  pooping  or  eating for  now.

Rest, rest and rest!  Short  potty breaks  and more  rest!  Some dogs sleep a lot, some or more restless and more vocal.  Mobility  may take a few days to stand on her own, etc.  can take a vit of tweaking  to get the pain meds balanced right for Smiley.  Try and get some rest when you can.  And eat CHOCOLATE!!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Good morning everyone.   Smiley is home and sleeping.  Potty breaks are a bit difficult we have pouring down rain,  So I took a garbage bag and wrapped her up and we hop outside.   I was able to get some sleep last night after checking on her 1000 times.

Going to local vet Friday to remove her bandages and check her stitches.   I had to put her in her kennel because she wouldn't stop moving around last night and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep.  So far it's not been too bad I just feel bad for her trying to figure out how to stand on one front leg.   I made a sling out of a recycled Walmart bag and sewed a towel in it to help with comfort.

Will let you know how our week goes.  RAIN PLEASE STOP.

Hey there! That's wonderful news about Smiley, not so great about that pesky rain. Ugh! Of all times!

Sounds like you got a couple of inventive pieces of gear to get you through this week. You'll have to check out tomorrow's Tripawds Gear blog for our review of the Sun Shower Rain Jacket. I hope it doesn't continue raining but if it does, this is a pretty slick piece of gear to keep Smiley dry!

Don't feel bad kenneling her, as long as she wasn't stressed, it's good to keep her in smaller spaces in your home to help recovery progress.

I hope that this week goes well. Keep us posted OK?

Great job! Smiley is home!!!

Mum you are a blooming genius for adding a bit of comfort to the shopping bag sling! Well done for thinking outside of Smileys box!

As Sally said, this is no picnic for a couple of weeks, but we will hang in there with you and it sounds like you have the right idea with putting Smiley in her kennel to be quiet for the night. The rest for both of you will do you the world of good!

All the best,

WELCOME HOME  SMILEY!!!😁

GREAT JOB ON THE SLING MOM!!

And you got some sleep?? YAAAAAAAAY!!!

As the hospital meds get out of her system, she may be a bit more uncomfortable,  so keep tabs on her pain meds and signs of any increase in pain.

Live in Virginia and, in my area, we jave had rain for werks!  Downpours, torrential downpours!  We've  had a little break recently, so hopefully  that will be the same for you.

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
