So just recieved the heart breaking prognosis and my Coco has Histiostyic sarcoma and as of now there is no evidence that is has spread into her lymph nodes or lungs, but from what I have been reading the outlook is grim. From what I understand is that it almost always metastases. To say I'm heartbroken would be an understatement.

Sure, it's always a kicking the gut to hear news from the pathology  report.  So many here can relate, that's  for sure.

But we can also tell you that we don't  hold much validity  to statistics  or prognosis arou d here!  

once you get a chance to clear your head, and you will, you will rem that Coc is not a ge realization  statistic.  She is her own dog with her own strong willed personality  who is getting exquisite  care.  She shows NO sign of metastasis  anywhere and that is a really good sign!  And I don't  say this lightly,  but just because  it is "likely" to metastasize,  doesn't t mean that it will, okay???  

The most important  lesson from our dogs is to live in the NOW, live in the present  with no worries about the tomorrow.  Dogs just embrace from glorious moment  to the next effortlessly.   Coco could care less what they report said.  All she knows is she's pain free and now has a good quality life ahead of her!  She's certainly not gonna spend one second  letting  that piece of crap disease rob her of her time with you, and don't  you either.

Now stay off Dr Google and go give that sweet Coco  a big smooch, extra treats and k ow that all is well in her world👍

Hey there if I could give you a hug right now I would ((((hugs)))). I'm sorry for that diagnosis, BUT....check out these long term histiocytic survivor stories. I hope they brighten your outlook.

Forget what Dr. Google says. Remember, Coco is not a statistic. You just don't know what will happen. Right now all signs look good, so enjoy that little victory and take things one day at a time as best you can.

First off, I would like to apologize to Amanda and Cooper for hijacking their thread. It was not my intention to do so. I was trying to share my experience as it was happening to us and got caught up in our own situation. That said I really appreciate the support and advice that I have received and hope it helps the original post. I had to chuckle a bit when Jerry and Benny55  had advise to stop asking Dr. Google "which is the first thing I did" and I think I'm going to have to try to follow that advice. It just creates more anxiety over a situation I have no control over. You both are so right she knows know different.  I'm gonna do my best to provide her with the best quality of life I can while I can whether that is 3 weeks 3 months or 3 years.  She had a great day today and I'll take that as it is. Thank you again and I hope me posting my situation has helped others in the same situation.

Yes!  Exactly!!  Follow Coco's lead!  And posting here or wherever....it is always helpful  to share information.  We all learn from each other AND we all learn that, again, statistics  don't  mean much around here.  

Wish Dr Google could be "cancelled" for acting like "it" has a medical degree🤪😱  We know our dogs and cats far better!!!
