Hi ddorwart, thanks for joining us. I'm sorry but I can't find any other pups here who have dealt with Addisons and chemotherapy. What has your oncologist told you about how the condition may or may not react to it? The more information you can share here, the more helpful it will be for a future member who is in your situation, so thank you for taking time to join us.
Tell us more about your pup, we'd love to learn more about your pack!

The oncologist thinks he will be fine, but I will need to up his prednisone dosage on chemo weeks. Here is a little bit about my pup:
Harley my adopted Great Dane is my life! He was adopted 2/13/11 at 2 yrs old, escaped our home just 3 days later I suppose looking for his previous home and was missing in the freezing cold for 7 days. He was hit by a car. I did not give up and found him 9 miles away on 2/23! He has not left my side since, doesn't even need a leash. In April of 2012 he was very sick and we took him to the ER. Found out why he was such a skinny Dane (we just thought it was 2 yrs of neglect before we adopted) and here he was diagnosed with Addison's disease. After a week in ICU and multiple blood transfusions from the ulcers the disease caused, he is healthy as can be going to 130+lbs from 90 and gets a shot of Percorten every 25 days. Now he has bit hit with this bone cancer and had his front left leg amputated on 12/4. He is doing amazing and starts chemo on 1/2. I know he will be ok, he has 6 lives left!!!!
Wow, Harley is miraculous! What an amazing pup, and you are pretty darn cool yourself for doing all you've done for him.
So he has osteosarcoma? I'm sorry, but you're right, he's certainly got a few more lives left!
It sounds like the Addison's will be manageable during chemo. I'm interested in knowing how it goes so be sure to come back here and update us. Good luck on 1/2, we will be thinking of you, especially during our own vet appointment at Texas A&M for Tripawds Spokespup Wyatt.
Keep us posted!
