Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
All paws crossed for ya'! Sending positive energy from Tripawd Land!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
As an update to this post, Abby was diagnosed with osteosarcoma yesterday. Even though every vet who saw her X-ray thought that would be the case, I had still held out a tiny shred of hope. Now we start the chemo journey... For more on her story, check out dearabby.tripawds.com. She is a trooper and it's nice to have these two weeks behind us.
Ugh...even though you think you're prepared, it's still a kick.
Of course, this means nothing to Abby and she's just focused on treats, tummy rubs and non-stop spoiling! Abby IS a trooper and ready to get on with the crazy antics of being a puppy!
You're doing a great job of staying in the moment. Not an easy task sometimes, but that's how you savor every treasured moment with Abby. Dogs are masterful at living in the NOW...she'll show you how!
Hugs and love!

Thanks for letting us know, and I'm really sorry.
Yep, hearing the diagnosis packs a whallop, but that shred of hope is something to grow and nurture as you move forward. No matter what the diagnosis someone gets, there are always things you can do to increase your odds and make the most of every single day, just like Trooper Abby! Follow her lead, she'll show you how to cope.
I'll go check out her blog, just us know if you need anything at all OK?

So sorry to hear this update, but on the same note, now there's no uncertainty and you can focus all your healing love. Before, you were trying to fight an unknown enemy. Now there's no doubt and you can be precise with your plan of action.
xoxo
