Caboooooooo. I'm so glad to hear life is good. It must be all that Florida sunshine!

We're always curious about how palliative radiation therapy works for our members so when you're humans get a chance to share more about your experience, we'll be waiting to read about it. Good luck with your first treatment!

You got it Jerry, I"ll be sure to update as we move forward.  Thanks again for all the support within this great group!!

Round 1 of radiation today, just dropped her off about 20 minutes ago.....of course we're nervous, but the Doctor sounded hopeful it will help out with her pain.  We appreciate any positive thoughts for Cabo today.   Thanks group!

Okay, the Tripawd Universe is sending all the power of our healing energy and pawsitive thoughts straight to Cabo!!!

I'm so glad you are getting this underway with a Vet who is optimistic about the results! Good energy! 🙂 🙂

Give that sweet girl a yummy treat when you pick her up! Drive -thru cheeseburgers are always a big hit, topped off by a Puppy Latte from Starbucks! 🙂

You have mine in spades.

How many sessions?

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Round 1 went very well......she tolerated the anesthetic very well, procedure went well too.....she came out very quickly, ate her lunch, and bolted to us when they brought her out to us, typical border collie doesn't do anything slow.   She's resting comfortably outside, taking a snooze in the bay breeze.

We are seeing improvements since the 2nd round of radiation.  Cabo is using her leg more, overall demeanor is more upbeat and perky, and she's not exhibiting as many "pain" related behaviors.....less fidgety, less panting.   I'm going to ask the Doctor if the tumor has shrunk in size, because to my hands, it feels a tiny bit smaller, so we'll see.  Overall it's going well, she's tolerating the treatments very well, and has no conned me into adding a bit of wet food to her kibble because the Doctor's office does this after her treatment.  GOOD DOG!  LOL!

What great news!  Glad she is tolerating it well, and that it is helping.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

I guess I just don't get how to add a photo, as I use google photos.....anyway maybe I'll start a blog just for pictures.

So week 3, she's doing very well....had me in tears the other day, when I asked her "to shake" and she gave me her bad paw....has NOT done this in a long time, so of course the water works started and she thought I was crazy.  Vet is very happy with her improvement and confirmed my feeling that the tumor has shrunk in size...next week is her last treatment.

You had the right idea there, but that image link is bad...

That's what they're there for! Though any publicly viewable valid image file (.jpg, .png, .gif) will work the way you did it.

Here are detailed instructions for adding photos to forum posts . Need further help? Post in the Tech Support forum and we'll be happy to help!
