Hello tribe,
I am struggling to find reviews for front leg amp wheelchairs or any current videos of large dogs with front leg amp using the wheelchair ?
Does anyone have any comments or experience with wheelchairs for front leg amputees (large dog)?
I did read a post about eddies that seemed to indicate maybe they had some bad reviews???
Walking wheels say that their product would be suitable, but the little wheels in the front don't seem right... especially for beach or park walking.
Would the wheelchair put a lot of stress on the back legs?
ANY Information on experience with the wheelchair for front leg amps would be helpful. Or even what the experience was with different companies who make these chairs... I have to have it shipped internationally and just want to make the right decision.

Yes. Something we learned recently is that the wrong sized front-limb wheelchair can actually cause a dog to tip forward and break his neck!
Seriously scared the living daylights out of us when we heard that. It makes sense though because unless the cart is precisely balanced, it's so easy for a dog to tip. Even our Wyatt Ray , who had a rear-limb wheelchair , tipped over more than once when he got wild in it.
So here's my recommendation: please please please don't buy anything until you consult with a physio either in person or online.
I know you mentioned how NZ physios don't have the wheelchair knowledge you are looking for. That's a challenge. Have you asked the one you already worked with? Is there not one that you've talked to that is willing to learn with you and Rufus? If not, these online physios may be able to help:
How to Get Tripawd Rehab Virtual Consulting at Home
I didn't either, scared me to death! It was straight from OrthoPets . They mentioned it because they often make neck braces for dogs in these really sad situations. Let us know what you find out with the virtual consulting OK?

Thanks for the info! I had no idea about tipping forward! I will try the virtual vet.
I am also going to need a front leg wheelchair for a new rescue. I'd love to know what you find and decide for your tripod.
