You are taking such good care of Mochi💖
FWIW, even with four leggers with partial tears, owners don't always go for the surgery. They can actually function very well while managing any pain and keeping activity on the light side. You have a good management plan. Whenever I tried to use a harness for my tripawd Frankie for hos cruciate issue....nope...he would either freeze up or try and hop/run so fast I would have to let go😜
I'm grateful for every month she appears cancer-free and happy. She is a miracle!
Yep, this is the lesson our dogs teach us on this journey. Once we learn to live in the moment and Be More Dog , we are free to be fully present in each and every glorious second to the next.
Let is know how the Rehab goes and thanks for the update.
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Mochi update: She had her orthopedic consult today. It appears that it is a partial tear of the cruciate ligament, not complete. In light of her tripod state and osteosarcoma history, both the vet and I agreed that while we could do surgery, we probably shouldn't at this point. We are going with 2 more weeks of rest and anti-inflammatories, then Feb 13 is her first rehab consultation. I got her webmaster harness this week and I put her toe grips back on, this time on all 3 paws and I think I put them in a better position this time. They don't seem to fall off. They are helping. The harness....well, she doesn't really like it yet but we are practicing. She was a total trooper at the vet. I am so thankful for all the support of this group. You all really helped me get the things Mochi needs to help her with her injury. At this point, I'm grateful for every month she appears cancer-free and happy. She is a miracle!
Patricia thanks for that update. I'm so glad it's only a partial. That was the same thing that happened with Jerry. With TLC and activity monitoring, he recovered. Mochi can get there too!
Don't forget about the Toe Grips that they should have a dab of super glue applied before putting them on her nails. That's how the maker recommends applying them, since they do tend to pop off on a Tripawd due to their odd gait.
Yes practice with the harness, sloooow and steady. Good job!
We are glad you are here too, all of us learn from each other. Give your miracle girl extra smooches from us and keep us posted.
p.s. don't forget Tripawds Foundation can pay for your first rehab visit !
Hello all,
Does anyone have a recommendation for a stroller or wagon or something to get Mochi up to an upstairs apartment we are going to visit? She is about 35 pounds. She has a harness so I could use that to help her up but she may need more than that.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Patty
Hi Patty,
Is there an elevator? Is that how you will take her up in the stroller? The Burley Bark Ranger is our favorite of all dog strollers
.
A harness with a top handle like the Ruffwear Flagline is super easy to use when assisting a dog up and down stairs as long as she is a little taller and you are able to lean over to assist if needed.
