So, we were on a prescription for her liver and now that a month has passed, her levels look fine. And the complication with pain meds is that she's on prozac and has had bad reactions to Rimadyl in the past. The vet was saying that there's a trade-off between pain meds that affect a dog's liver and those that interact with prozac. Metacam is what we were given and it's great, but was told that it can in some cases affect the liver. So unless we see any signs of pain, we'll leave her on her happy pills and try not to upset the balance. 

Jerry- a block here is about 500 feet which is not far for a midsize dog. I'm going to keep watching her and have been considering visiting the vets here at Penn to see if anyone can take a look at her.

Thanks all for the support. It's great to hear everyone else's experience- I wouldn't know how to think about what I'm seeing without your advice!
