She sounds pretty darn smart!

Maybe you can develop a ball game where you place a bunch of balls around the lawn and get her to go get them and bring them back instead of throwing the ball for her.

I've used Dasaquin for years and really like it. My old pug girl Tani took it to help with her arthritis and my quad pug boy Obie takes it to help with his repaired knees.

I really hope you can make our meet up next month- I really want to meet Gracie and compare game ideas with you.  Plus there are usually a bunch of balls at the park- she would have a, well, ball!

Yes, we plan to be at the meet up! Sounds like lots of fun! We are in Berkeley, so Mill Valley is not too bad a drive.

Has anyone seen these used with any success? I am trying to think of a way to protect Gracie's chest and amputation area, as well as protecting her existing front elbow (which is bald and abraded). I would like to be able to add some closed-cell foam padding to something like this but have no idea if it would be practical. Obviously I would have to rmove the "extra" sleeve too.

Yes, Dogleggs are a wonderful product. Expensive but worth the investment. And they do custom sizing.

I was thinking of you just now when I read this update from Louie, who developed a seroma 1 year after his amputation:

How's Gracie's doing?

Thank you! I will read that post! Gracie is healing well- swelling almost all gone. I am a bit anxious about resuming her regular play schedule (dogs and balls). I just saw a new product at Per Food Express that is in the $35 range (1/2 the price of the Dogleggs) and I think they will let me try it on Gracie before I buy, so I think I will take her with me and see if it looks like a good candidate for modifying with chest padding. I cannot remember the name, maybe Securitite. It is marketed as an option to using a head cone when the dog is healing from something you don;t want them bothering. It fits snuggly to the body (or legs).
