I'm looking to get our dog a new bed. She turned 8 this year, and 8 years on one hip is catching up to her. I've been looking at orthopedic beds but not having much luck. Everything that we've seen in store has chipped memory foam, which is too lumpy for her liking. All of the foam slabs I've seen online has poor reviews, saying the bed lost their shape in a week. I'm not opposed to spending a good chunk of money to get her the right bed, but I want to know it's going to be good before I order something without seeing it first hand. What are you guys using that you like? We probably had the best luck with a crib mattress as far as keeping its spring and shape, but claws tore it up despite multiple layers of covering.

Hi and welcome! What's your dog's name and the reason for the amputation? We can't wait to learn all about your pup!

Have you seen the Tripawds Gear blog 's pet bed selections? We spotlight our favorite beds the community loves listed there, with the Big Barker Bed and the Urban Sprawl being the two most popular. Check them out, you'll likely find one that's just right.

My pack loves the Big Barker beds.   I have 3 of them now.  They still fight over them LOL.

Along with Michelle, I heartily  endorse  The Big Barker Bed .  Yes, it is an investment., but they seemingly  last forever!!!  I've had mine for over five years and it has not lost its  shape of density one bit!!  I would have spent that amount of monies many times over with one bed after another that lost its shape, or was ripped to shreds.

Like Michelle, I also have a second one.   When my 130 lb Bull Mastiff, Hapoy Hannah, was recovering  from amp surgery, I lay beside her on these beds.  Tjey TRULY are the Tempurpedic version!  They are excellent  beds for joint support.  They have enough firmness that a tripawd won't  lose it's  footing when trying to stand on a squishy  bed.

Amd the seller customer service mis outstanding  and hands on.

Now, all that said, they are ,are fot larger sogs.  Uoi'll have to check the link in Hear, but I think they are medium and up.  Just too much support for a smaller dog.

Happy shopping!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
