In response to the "REI" boots. Pre amp, my dog Chloe had been on a couple back packing trips and she wore the REI dog boots. At first she was confused with the boots, trying to "step" out of them, but she got used to the feel in no time. There are velcrow straps that go around the foot a few inches above their paws. I don't know that they keep sand out, since she was only ever on dirt trails. This has been my only experience with them. Don't know that this helped much since you probably already have the Skyline ones, so maybe this is just confirming your better buy!
Good Luck!
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
