It's been about 6 weeks since Maya became a tripawd.  She is now back to her old self.  She hops around like she doesn't remember life with 4 paws.  She has learned to get up and lay down just fine.  She loves to go walking, be not as long as she used.  She can get on and off the furniture on her own and she even attempts to get in and out of the car.

Last week she went to the local park for "Tail Waging Tuesday"  where she was treated like a star.  People made over her (and asked about her missing paw) and the other dogs all sniffed noses with her.  Her tail was waging the entire time.

I was really concerned prior to her surgery about what her quality of life would be like on 3 paws but she has adapted to it just fine.  My little girl is once again my happy little girl.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Great news !  glad to hear Maya is back to a new-normal life on 3 legs.  She is happy, she is pain-free, that´s what makes it all worthwhile.  Keep on hopping!

hugs from Daniela & Johnnie

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet.   Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues.   Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle.  October 17:  started having seizures.  Taking fenobarbital for seizures.  April 18: started prednisone.
