just realized that since becoming a Tripawd, Otis does not like moving about the house in the dark. Breakfast and our first outing are before the sun rises, and Otis will wait until I turn on all the lights before getting up. Perhaps all of the floor mats cause depth perception issues, perhaps he just wants to make sure there is nothing in his way?
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.

Interesting observation! Could be any of those things you mentioned. 
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

When Murphy first had his surgery I put a couple of those little battery-operated tap lights down in a couple of spots where we have just 1 step so that at night when we'd turn off the lights, I'd tap on those lights. That way he could see those steps if he was wandering around and remember that they were there, hopefully preventing a stumble in the dark. They aren't very bright, so they didn't bother us any, but just enough to light up the area he needed.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Great observation. Well, I'm pretty sure that if I were missing a leg and suddenly figuring things out again, darkness would be scary for a while. I like the night light idea that Donna gave (thanks Donna!).
