Tri-pug Maggie had part of her femur and the muscle wrapped around, she had a much better base than Elly does. Sitting and some of the things we do would be easier for Elly if they had left some of her leg.

I just went back and watched all the vids again.  Another really cool thing is how much he seems to like the work (except the wheelbarrow maybe).

Elly was hit by a car and amputated before I adopted her so I had no input.  I have seen one xray on the rescue group's FB page and the fracture looks like it was pretty bad.

You were very smart to opt for the surgery that left part of the bone and the muscle. When Mag had her surgery in 2006 it seemed like the preferred option was to leave part of the bone if possible.  I hear now that some surgeons think taking the entire bone is the best thing.  Having experience with both options now I really think leaving part of the bone covered with the muscle is by far the best (assuming that there is an option).

Elly is also very attached to me and pretty much follows me around, however she is pretty afraid of everything!  One of the reasons I have taken so many classes with her is to build her confidence.  She has made huge improvements since I adopted her over a year ago but it has been slow.  She is not at all like the outgoing, try anything pugs I've had in the past. In her favor though she is not at all obstinate and stubborn like those outgoing pugs!
