"Hello, all!
My boyfriend and I are looking to adopt this wonderful and beautiful
three legged dog named Marley. It has been roughly three weeks since
his surgery, and he is running along great. We are in the process of
getting our home in order for his arrival, and must put in a doggie
door.What we would like to know does anyone out there have any suggestions or advice on placement, type, etc. of doggie door?

Our girl was well acquainted with our doggy door before her cancer. After her amputation, she seemed to have no trouble getting out through the door but was reluctant to come in. The ground level outside is an inch or two below the inside ground level. Seemed to us that this tiny elevation change was no big deal, and maybe it wasn't our dog's issue, but that is what we decided her reasons were. She was so funny, she figured out she could just head butt the people door open rather than mess with the doggy door. So we would hear a loud bang, the door would open, and she would come in like she owned the place.
The doggy door was installed according to the instructions with the height of the opening a few inches higher than her back.
