Does any particular kind of carpet have better traction?

My almost-13-year-old Lab had her right rear leg amputated 6 days ago due to osteosarcoma (the last straw for the leg: seven years ago, a mast celll tumor was removed from the lower leg, followed by radiation and six five and half carefree years, but last September she fractured the tib-fib for no good reason (no tumors were found) and had a plate and screws put in.  In June, she suddenly had a large mass below her knee that turned out to be osteosarcoma.  She'll begin chemo in a couple of weeks).

Does anyone know if one kind of carpet texture (pile, shag, deep shag, etc.) works better than others to give traction ?  Am investing in FLOR carpet squares (www.flor.com) to put in a hardwood entry but don't know which type.

Thanks.

Hi Keenijn, thanks for joining us. Sorry you had to. Your lab sounds like a real survivor! Wow. Truly amazing. We hope that she has many more healthy times ahead!

I would say that a lower pile carpet would be best, just because there's less stuff in the way of their paw paths. Any kind of carpet is better than none however.

That's true love, redecorating your home just for your Tripawd! All of us here can totally relate.
