(I accidentally posted this earlier in "Share Your Story" - sorry if you're reading it here again. I moved it here so it makes more sense).
It's been about two months since Lina's rear leg amputation. Since the surgery, we've been gradually allowing her to do more and more. We've switched her to a raw diet (because she is still fighting her hemangiosarcoma) and her energy has just exploded. It's been fun to see her take the world by storm.
For the past week, she's been favoring her one rear leg & licking the paw alot. The skin between her toes is raw. At first we thought it was just an insect bite or cut, but since it's persisted, we've been getting worried.
Browsing this (truly amazing) forum last night led me to believe that it's pressure sores. It sounds like others have had similar problems.
The treatments I saw were these:
- Soaking in Saline solution
- Using EMT Gel
- Making her wear a boot
Are there any options I'm missing? Does anyone have experience with using either Tuf-feet or Musher's Secret in this situation? Do you think they would help?
She doesn't love wearing her boots, but maybe she'll adjust? I'd welcome any thoughts and insight you might have on the best treatments and the best way to get her back on all her feet 
This issue isn't uncommon, many Tripawds have this happen and it is something that can be resolved. Sorry you are dealing with it. Ouch!

My little pug Maggie was also a rear amp. She developed what seemed to be pressure sores just once. I took her to the vet because I was worried she had something in her toes that I couldn't see, but nothing was found. It was cleaned really well, then bandaged for a day or two. After that I don't remember it being a problem.
Maggie WOULD NOT wear booties of any kind. I didn't push it because her traction was always OK. I did use Musher's Secret for a couple years on her pads. It really helped keep her pads supple which gave her better traction . I didn't really use it between her toes so I can't help you there.
It's good to hear she is doing so well otherwise.
