Hi everyone, I have a front leg amputee, and I need to get some type ot step or ramp to assist him in entering and exiting my SUV. He’s almost two years old, and has been a Tripawd for about a year now. I’m confused about which might be best for him........a ramp, a step, or stairs? Should I load him from a side door, or to the rear? I’d love to hear your opinions and experiences on what works best. Thanks so much!

Ramps can be cumbersome, and many dogs refuse to use them due to the "visual cliff" phenomenon they experience. Check out this selection of pet steps designed just for trucks and SUVs, or consider the Pet Loader Steps.

Murphy was about 50lbs and I drive a Ford Escape. I always just used his Webmaster Ruffwear harness & helped him in the back seat. He would jump right up & I would lift a little bit with the handle. We never used a ramp for him.
Now for our other dog, Cassie, when she was having trouble because of arthritis & bulging discs in her back, I happened to get a used ramp from someone when we got her help 'em up harness. We were using it in the back yard for the deck & I used it for getting her in & out of the back section of my Escape - she was about 65lbs & too much for me to try to lift. It worked really well for us. This is the one we have:
