Well it's been just a little over a month since Marley became a tripawd, and I'm so happy to report that he is doing absolutely wonderful!!! Things are pretty normal around the house these days. He is able to do everything he did before and is quiet fast on three legs. Eating habits are back to normal, playing is fun again, rolling in the yard, up and down stairs, standing on his back legs begging and playing, jumping up and down on furniture, beds you name it. His hair is starting to grow back quiet well and you can't even see the scar anymore, it's all healed up 🙂 The only thing that has changed a little is that he doesn't put up with his little brothers crap and will snap at him when he gets too annoying. He hasn't bitten him hard, but he's letting him know that he's still the boss! We start chemo on May 4th so I hope that it goes well, it worries me in the back of my mind that he won't react well to it, but I'm always worrying about my fur baby when he has to go through something.

Others maybe have more insight into his little snappy moments than I. Are you portraying a strong energy...a strong confident pack leader to Marley? Through your energy if he knows you are in charge and you can protect him, he may not feel the need to give a warning to his brother.
One thing about chemo, you can always stop of their are bad side effects. My Happy Hannah saild through her four rounds of Carboplatin. Some dogs have a little nausea and maybe are lethargic for a today or two, but are usually over it pretty quickly. The Vet will give you Cerenia should he need it for nausea.

Well that is GREAT news! And yeah of course you worry, who wouldn't? But remember we can't predict the future, so stay pawsitive and if he doesn't react well to chemo, then you can deal with it then. For now, enjoy the pawesome place the whole pack is in right now. YAY!

Great update!  Glad he is doing so well.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.  Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma. Â
Wherever they are, they are together.

I know the first few days/week were really tough, so glad to hear y'all are doing well now.Â
Like others have said, I wouldn't worry too much about the chemo. If it doesn't go well you can always stop it. Rocky is due for his fourth round of chemo the same day Marley gets his first. Rocky hasn't shown any side effects at all so far through three rounds. No lethargy, no nausea, nothing. His oncologist said 90 percent of her patients never experience any issues.Â

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.Â
