Oh no! I'm sorry he's gotten worse. Poor guy. What is your vet's plan other than the prednisone? If they recommended diagnostics like an MRI and it's something like a slipped disc, that would likely require surgery IF that is the problem. Hopefully it's not though, and you can get Django to a point on the pred, where his movement is improved enough so that a therapist can do some work with him to help him get his mobility back.

I'm really sorry, I know this sucks and it's heartbreaking. Having another opinion by a neuro or ortho specialist would really help if that's something you can do. Do you still have that Thursday appointment? Are you keeping it?

And one more question.  Did the Vet suggest  tapering Django off the Gabapentin?

I’m gonna set up a appointment today to let him go. He’s done can’t stand and he’s eating his food like he’s drinking water. Thanks everyone for your support.

Our hearts break for you.  So very, very  sorry how things have unfolded in auch an unexpected way.    Just so gutted for you.

Right now, I'm surrounding  you with love and peace and a clarity in knowing  you did everything possible......everything possible......for your handsome Django,

You are releasing  him from his failed earth clothes so he can run free and be his  energetic self again.  And he is so grateful  for that gift of love.

Go and be with Django now.  Stay fully present  with him and celebrate this very special Soul and all the love you two share......and will always share.    We will be with you both as we told you tightly  in our hearts

With love and light

Well he’s gone guys, he had scrambled eggs for breakfast and took him to the park one last time. They think it spread to his spine and was paralyzing his rear legs. I’m devastated, I really tried all I wanted was one or two more months to take him on few coastal camping trips. Maybe I’ll upload a happy picture of him when I get home. Just so I don’t leave this on a sad note.

Ohhhhh icon_cry I'm deeply sorry, this is devastating. I wish I had some way of teleporting myself over so I could give you a giant hug and kiss Django farewell. It sucks, really sucks, when this happens. Going downhill so fast is something that doesn't happen very often but when it does we are all feeling the grief of losing a community member.

You bravely did what you felt in your heart was right for him. That is not an easy thing to put your own heartbreak aside so he no longer hurts. Django was lucky to have such a courageous human looking out for him. You set him free so that his soul can transition without pain, so that your happy memories of him outnumber this very short and very awful time. This is the greatest gift we can give to our fur kids. I know it doesn't feel that way right now though.

Please lean on us, our support doesn't end here. If you want to put a tribute to him in Coping with Loss, we would be honored to celebrate Django's time on this earth. And know that we are sending lots and lots of hugs to you. sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

This was his favorite toy his whole life. Of course the damn ball sanded down a few teeth over years. It’s the one toy he couldn’t destroy.

Even though my tears are falling, seeing this treasured video of Djang has me smiling through the tears

He is so masterful with that ball!!!   .I've never seen any dog play with ball that size and have pretty mich complete control over it.  David  Beckham can learn some pointers!

While I know you there is a sense of relief because Django is out of pain and running free, you are engulfed in grief.  The void hurts.  The break in routine from giving Django such exquisite care 24/7 Hurst and leave you empty.

Make no mistake about it, your care for Django has been exquisite.   Sometimes this piece of crap disease  has already plotted it course under the radar of medical professionals.   As Jerry said, we don't  see this quick downward spiral often, but does happen and brutal  spine mets are sometimes the culprit.  Nothing could have predicted this.

We have been so touched by your love and devotion  to Django.  We fell in love with him too.  Our hope was unwavering in the belief this was most likely some type of  muscle tweak, sprain, etc.  that could be turned around.  Sadly, that was not the case.

We would like nothing  more to see more video and photos of Django  when you are up to it.  He was so much more than these past several weeks.  He clearly was strong and determined, as well as a Hapoy fella' who loved to play........ especially with that huge red ball!!

We are still here with you, okay?  We are family and we are so privileged  to get to know Django and his hooman whose love for yim is eternal....as is his love for you ♥️

Surro you with Django's eternal light

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS.   My Happy Hannah is part of the welcoming  committee  for  new members as they run home   to The Rainbow Brdige.  These were waiting got him...........

Oh my gosh, thank you for sharing Django's life in happier times. This is how we will remember him and I hope that you are able to dig up all those joyful times you spent together so they can surround you with love.

What a strong, vibrant and handsome pup! He made me smile chasing around that red ball. It's the Indestructiball right? That was our Jerry's favorite toy as well! We filled it with gravel and it made Jer NUTS! I hope they met at the Bridge and had a rowdy play session with it.

It means so much to us that you came vack to share these happy  times you shared.  This is what Django wants you to remember.   These represent how he lived his life......surrounded  by fun and vy your love.

He's so darn cute romping in that light dusting of snow as though it was a mile high snow drift.  Just precious..

We know it was hard coming back to post this video. We hope that it did remind uou of a life well lived and put a smile on your heart.Anytime you want to share more, we are here.
