What a sweetie Reese is. My heart goes out to you, I wish she had had more time. She sounds so strong though, to put up with those tumors with hardly a whimper.
I know how difficult and heart wrenching. Our time together is never long enough.
I also agree with Princess: it's often a struggle to tell when the time is right. This post by Spirit Bo's people can help make that determination:

That picture is absolutely adorable. She is so unbelievably cute. Angel Abby's Mom is right, it is pure joy. Life doesn't get any better than that.
Thinking of you.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
What a lovely photo! We had the conversation about Winston many times and each time it was as though he heard us and would come running into the room to say 'I am not ready to go just yet'. I knew it was time when he was really struggling to breath one night. The next day he would leave my side, he kept jumping up and panicking as though he was confused or in pain, I couldn't watch him like that so for his sake we let him go. He ran into the vets and greeted everyone as though nothing was wrong, he was wagging his tail right til the end.
Everyone said to me you will know when it's time and in the end I did. My heart goes out to you. xx
Winston started limping in Feb 11, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right front paw in March 11, amputation April 11. Six rounds of carboplatin. Diagnosed with HO and lung mets September 11.We sadly said goodbye on 24 May 12, sleep tight Winston dog xx
What a cute picture! With Chili Dawg when his cancer returned he started limping again. I knew it was back before the vet confirmed it. Over the next four days he deteriorated rapidly and the night he needed to be carried outside and held up to go potty and carried back in told us that he needed to be released from his pain. The day we did it he still had a smile on his face and his tail wagged but he couldn't get up on his own. We could also see in his eyes that he wanted to be done. He had the look. If only love could cure our furbabies...
Sending you hugs
