I am missing my best boy
. Thunder died early Saturday morning June 29th. He had a good last day - even though I didn't realize it would be his last day. He enjoyed spending time outside with his favorite neighbor and had some delicious ice cream. He declined rapidly through the night and we had to take him to the emergency vet which was not our first choice. He had his favorite people with him. Our family is devastated. We are thankful we were able to have almost 6 months to say goodbye. His prognosis was 3-5 months postop and he was 5 days shy of 6. Thank you for everyone on this site who helped us and gave us such good information and helped me keep the faith after his surgery. I thank Dr. McFadden for telling me about this site.
Kassie I am sooooo sorry. Poor guy! That is a terrible shock and I wish nobody ever had to go through that experience. I know you did what you could to keep him comfortable and make sure he transitioned in a loving, peaceful way. My heart and all my condolences go out to you and your family, I'm so sorry.
If and when you are feeling up to it, please share Thunder's life with us. I feel like we hardly got to know him and I would love see photos of your handsome senior pup. If you'd like me to post them for you just message me OK?
Through the tears and heartache of losing your brave boy, know that you did the very best you could for him and he will repay you a thousand times over in spirit. Thunder's love will always surround each and every one of you, forever.

I am so sorry to hear about Thunder crossing the Bridge. This is the hardest part of our journey because it is so personal. No one can say when the hurt will stop. Eventually it will lessen. It doesn't mean there won't be a big hole in your heart or you won't miss him for ever. Watch for signs he will let you know he is ok.
