The Day of the Dead is a wonderful loving celbration of family that has transitioned. I can't think of a better day to celebrate our sweet girl.
There were so many things I wanted to do before this first angelversary, but time has a way of passing at lightning speed when one isn’t paying attention. But then, maybe that’s a blessing. Maybe that’s by design. Maybe that’s how I know that the hub-a-dub and myself are happy knowing that Harmony is running like her ass is on fire at the Bridge.
Nope, I haven’t done my Tribute Leash Ribbon yet nor have I painted her memorial portrait, but I find comfort in knowing that she wouldn’t want us to dwell on her absence while she’s whooping it up at the Bridge. I’ll get around to all those things. In the meantime, all I know is Harmony’s legacy will last until I draw my last breath. Then I’ll open my arms for her to knock me down in a joyous reunion.
To celebrate, we’re planning on going to Wendy’s and having the most glorious cheeseburger ever, second only to hers. I hope and pray this will be the first of many for Melody and Meesha.
We’ve moved on and welcomed sweet Meesha to our pack. I don’t have to tell you that we’re the better for it. I find it ironic that Meesha’s birthday is just 2 days before Harmony’s Departday; no doubt by design.
Still, the last thing I do before we all turn into bed at night is reach into Harmony’s cookie jar and give Melody and Meesha their bedtime treats.
Thank you Harmony. You are so missed; my sweet, my love, my Harmony. <3<3<3
Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

So beautifully put, and we couldn't agree more. Harmony wants it this way.
Hugs to the pack. Hope the cheeseburger was wonderful!

Beautiful!!! I celebrated "day of the dead" last year with a memorial on the beach for Shelby ... I was traveling this year for work and didn't have a chance. But this is so lovely. And I hope you enjoyed those cheeseburgers! Lots of love your way!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
