Carol, thank you for sharing! So true written! I'm one of those who needs to get a new dog quite fast after I lost one. We are all different and I really respect those who want to wait. I also think a new dog doesn't replace the old one. One part of my heart grieves at the same time I'm happy for the new dog and love it. When I lost Penny it was terrible to see Wilbur alone. They played so much and really enjoyed each other so it wasn't just for me I got Bellis, it was for Wilbur as well. And just after a little while they also started to play and like each other very much. That also is a great happiness to see Wilbur so glad again. But of course you get a special bond to a dog with cancer, all treatment and so on. But it's like we do different trips with different dogs and all the trips are worth the same but give us different experiences. I also think it's interesting what Cecar Millan ones said "that we get the dog we need". Penny was totally crazy as a puppy and quite wild her hole life. But of course wonderful, funny, loving... And she taught me A LOT! So yes, we get the dogs we need
About meeting other forum members it would be sooo fun! Maybe some day. Anyone close to Sweden ;-)? Take care everyone! Love this forum! Sorry I'm not in here us much us many of you, but as long we all write and do something it's a good thing, right?

I was on one of my RV forums this afternoon. One of the posters was talking about the loss of his "heart" dog and wasn't really sure just how strongly he felt about the second one until he almost lost her. He had two comments that really struck me and I thought I would share them.
"Just like kids, you love each one differently. Not more or less, just differently. And when you lose one or the other you will hurt differently. But you will hurt. And that's what makes us human."
“Grief is the price we pay for love.”

Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Awww. Thanks for sharing Kathi, that's well said.
