I'm so sorry to hear this and for the pain you're going through.  B was clearly so well loved and cared for!  I have to think, too, that is was something in his brain, something that just happened and couldn't be seen or prevented.  You did nothing wrong!  It was too sudden.  All our pups leave us too early, no matter if we get 1 week, 1 year, or 10 years post-amputation.  It's always too early.  One thought I've used to comfort myself when a loved one leaves suddenly: at least he didn't suffer a long, awful end.  The departure was quick, immense, and without warning.  But, you didn't have to hold on, fight, and struggle for months or years until the end.  Those thoughts have helped me...

He's free, happy and loving it up at the Rainbow Bridge!  LOVING IT!

~ Katy & Jackson

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I am so sorry for your loss.  It is never easy to lose one of our loved ones. You did nothing wrong at all.  Like everyone said Bailey made the call.  It not dark at all at the Bridge.  I loved the way Christine explained it.  Don't let anyone tell you when or how long to grieve its a very personal thing to everyone.

I am sure there will be things that remind you of him & set you off crying that is also normal.  We each grieve in our own ways.  Some more out in open some more private.

Thank you for sharing about Bailey & his life and the pictures of him

So very sorry for your loss. Bailey was adorable and that is how you will remember him. He is meeting so many new and old friends now and will wait patiently until he sees you again.

Take care-
