Olive is soooo cute. I am glad that you have a new little one to share your love with. It is not disloyal to Lulu. In fact, I think it is a testament to what a good relationship you had. You are willing to do it again, even with the pain in the end. Lulu was a beauty, too, and you are right they went to fast. So many so fast. I am trying to hold tight to the happy memories with Emily. She was a rescue dog, too. (Abandoned out in the country where I went to church.) I am lucky in that in addition to the five years we had with Em I also have a six year old lab, Bentley, and a spastic minature pincher, Marley, who is two. Even though I miss Emily terribly I am not lacking in dog kisses. I have been looking at ads online for shelters but all he dogs have too many legs! LOL! (A third dog is not in the picture.)
Thank you for your kind words about Emily. She truely was special.
Debra
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
Stacy,
Congratulations on rescuing3-eyed Olive from the shelter!!! I love the pictures of her... She is so tiny and adorable!
She is so lucky to have found her forever home with you... She will have so much love and happiness now, for the rest of her life! I'm sure that your Angel Lulu is pleased because she probably feels bad that her mommy has been so sad since she left.
Keep posting updates and tons of pictures and videos of Olive!!
Luv,
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
I actually got all teary-eyed when I read what you said about if you'd never had Lulu, it wouldn't have led you to Olive. I think that getting a new dog helps to kind of "cousel" you through things...another fur thing to love, to share with, to share stories of Lulu with, to take what you've learned in raising Lulu and apply it to a new dog that needs that love and affection. You are lucky to have found her, and how fitting that Lulu played a part in this new addition to the family. Congratulations!!!
