Tears flowing here too. So beautifully simple yet so moving. I picture the happy face dog as he's leaving his earthly body figuring out he's young again with no more pain. And then he hears the music from the bridge. Thank you for sharing this Pam!

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.

The day I posted this was my first day back to the site after being absent for the busy season. As I read through everyone's posts, I realized I spent pretty much the entire day in tears. No one could come into my office without having to endure my Kleenex moments.
I also do an inspirational/motivational email broadcast here at the office and happened across this cartoon. I had to share because I knew it was presented to me with a purpose.
So many times when I log on, there is pain/suffering, but I also see so much hope and empathy. I don't know how many of you do it. I log on for a day and I'm a blubbering idiot. My hat's off to so many of you.
I've a few friends here at the office who have lost their pets over the holidays and as I offer a hug and a shoulder to them, here is my virtual hug and shoulder to all of you.

I'm with you Pam... today is my first day back and it's been a long couple of weeks and I have missed you all but reading the posts are uplifting and heartbreaking ....
THis ... wow... I just keep thinking about Shelby and how that rings true. She was fine until she was not. And it was the hardest decision I have ever had to made and despite my vowing, stating, that i would NEVER love like that again because of the heartbreak ... well little Jasper Lily has wormed her way deep into my heart. And I hope it is many, many years before we have to walk that road.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Pam, for you to be able to stay on here and help.others and offer hope and love and inspiration...YOU are so selfless. You have such courage and grace. There are very, very, very few who could stay here and contribute after losing a dog..."way too soon". You honor Harmony with every ppst. To especially be able to help those who barely make it past surgery...such a gift. You always offer a perspective for them that I KNOW helps bring them peace with their decision.
