My grief is too new to share my Moby's story yet. My cousin sent me this, and it brings me comfort to think of Moby running free. You may have seen it before, I don't know who wrote it. But maybe it will bring some one else some comfort too.

"In days gone by, the dog ran wild, untamed and free.
Although man may have tamed your bodies,
we have never tamed your spirit.
You are free now.
Go and run with your pack,
with your wild ancestors, racing by the midnight moon.
Go and hunt for your prey,
taking what is your birthright.
Join the wolf, the jackal, the wild dogs,
and run with your kin on the wild hunt.
Run, and guide your spirit home."

Beautiful!!!!!!

Love it... and thank you for sharing!

There are many poems, stories and pictures that helped me through my grief.. and still help me to this day.

Lean on those when you need to... read those when you want.. and remember that.. no matter what happened.. you had the love of a furkid that etched their pawprint on your heart.. and NOTHING can take that away!!!

When you love hard.. you grieve hard....

Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Beth,

I've never seen that particular poem but it is simply beautiful.  Moby is indeed running free with his ancestors.

Beth,

Beautiful poem......And I agree with Christine, there are so many poems and quotes that got me through the loss of all my Lab girls, especially my Polly, and they continue to do so. All our pups and kitties absolutely etch their pawprints into our heart and soul forever. There is always that one or two very special pups that take a huge part of our heart with them.

I can help but think that although our beloved angel pups are running free, healthy and happy over the Bridge, they always want to take a few moments out of their playtime and hunt every single day, to walk onto the Bridge and look down at us, and send a few signs or signals that they love us and miss us....... It helps my heart to heal much better knowing they do this for all of us.

We are all here for you, and take your time to grieve, there is no time limit for that, and we will all look forward to when you can share Moby's story with us.

{{{Hugs}}}

Dear Swwet Beth....Thank you for taking the time to share that beautiful sentiment.

Yes, they do return home to theor "roots". That's such a lovely thought. We have the privilege of borrowing" them for a bitand then they get the reward of returning back to their ancestral family. What a gift they gave us.

I know the shock of losing Moby is still unbearable...a d will feel that way for a long time. We all continue to shake our heads in disbelief. I know I can speak for the whole community when I tell you you are in our thoughts every single day and our hearts are broken over your loss.

I do like to believe as Bonnie said, they are watch i ng over us. They do take a break from their "wild and crazy" fun lpving time and check in on us. Moby knows you are sad. Moby wants you to remember all the happy times when you can. That's what he carried with him...all the love a d all the happy times.

When you can, maybe you can have a little "celebration of life" garden. Many of us have done that or made a little corner of our homes "their corner" with momentos. My Happy Hannah lpved laying by the woodstove. I had Rene make a beautiful cooper plaque that said "Happy Hannah's Woodstove". I also had some jewelry she made for me. And, as you can imagine, every piece she makes is made with love and care. There is a link on here to her jewelry on Etsy.

I'll ALWAYS smile (even if it's thru tears right now, everytime I see Moby's avatar picture! What a good natured fella'!

I'd love to see him with his ancestral pack...I bet they all have the coolest sunglasses ever!!

Sending you all the love in the world...

Sally and My Eternal Light Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Love this poem! I too, had a few poems and pictures that helped me. Rene, I did not think of the Coyotes, but I will now. Yep, we have them in Pa. Sometimes, my dogs howl along. Take it a day at a time. I had a friend say to me when I was still buried deeply in grief for Ty that he had a great life, a couch to sleep on, food in his bowl every day, never a hungry belly and a family to love him. Didn't make me miss him any less, but gave me the comfort that I had contributed to him having a good life. May this bring you a bit of comfort also. Lori, Ty & the gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
