Hello all you wonderful people. I know I've been absent of late, but life has been crazy lately. I do surf the forums and blogs when I can, but you're never, ever too far from my heart.
As the title of this posts suggests, today is Day of the Dead or All Saints Day. Isn't it ironic? Today, 2 years ago, our sweet Harmony transitioned and became a saint all on the same day. In a way, I do find it comforting to know that this "holiday" has a double meaning for me. My heart was crushed, yet knowing she's doing zoomies and digging holes at the Bridge makes me so very happy. AND, yes, no more suffering. The burden that belongs to me is facing each day in memory of her sweet, sweet face and disposition.
So, as this angelversary passes, the hub-a-dub and I are going to get Harmony celebratory cheeseburgers for supper. We'll take three more "to go" for home to the fur-babies who possess our hearts today. And to Harmony's joy, we'll give them the buns as well.

It is so comforting to know she picked that day for transition.
Yes, Harmony left us all too soon, way too soon. But that's from our human perspective, not from the Soul's perspective that Harmony embraced. Her earthly mission had so many layers that are still veing revealed to us today. As agonisingly devastating every single loss is, there are very few of us (thankfully) who can offer the kind of support and understanding you can when a beloved family member transitions before completing recovery. To be able to touch lives in a way that honors sweet Harmony is a powerful legacy. The courage and compassion it takes for you to reach out to those in need, in spite of your own tragic loss, is such a loving gift from you...and from SAINT HARMONY!!
Thank you for giving us an opportunity to celebrate SWEET SAINT HARMONY today. She's just o ee of those dogs who jumped into our hearts from day one...and never left
The Angels at the Bridge must be awfully busy constantly be trying to fill all the holes Harmony is digging at the Bridge!! And to think Harmony can eat all the cheeseburgers WITH vuns that she wants without ever gaining weight makes me want to do zoomies of joy for her!! But it'll make me dizzy and nauseous!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Happy Saint Harmony Day! We miss and love you very much!!! Your lucky your mama is going to honor you by celebrating with yummy cheeseburgers (little Jasper wishes her mama would do the same).
Today is a bittersweet day as we honor those that passed and take the time to reflect on their spirit and memory. Two years ago, just a few months after Shelby earned her wings, I went down to the beach to celebrate her life and our time there together. The beach had become mine and Shelby's sanctuary - a place to go when times got tough. After she passed, it was horribly painful for me to go, especially since little Jasper hated the beach.
But on that November 1, two years ago so the same day Harmony left us, I lit candles, sprinkled glitter and watched the waves crash ... I am sure Shelby was welcoming sweet Harmony over the bridge while seeing her "shrine".
I haven't done that since but perhaps tonight I'll go down to the beach and sprinkle some glitter in the sand for my sweet girl and all the other angels that have departed us ...

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh, I LOVE the sprinkles on the beach!! And yes, All Saints Day is in remembrance of all the ones we love who've transitioned; from bi-peds to quads, love knows no boundary. What a wonderful idea to memorialize in a place that's special to your heart.
