No judgements ever...each person has to do what they need to do to get through their grief and no one has any right to judge that person. I agree that Sasha would not want you to be sad EVER and just think about the wonderful and loving home your new baby has...please let us know what you name her and send a picture our way.
I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised at how much you love your new girl and all the personality and love that she will bring to your lives. She will never replace Sasha and she will never compete with her...she will just be herself and you'll fall in love with her for just being her.
In our prayers...

Heather and Spirit Zeus - Our life changing journey…from the earth to the heavens…one day at a time…always together
This day has been very hard. Today Sasha would have been 9 years old. I look at her kind face in a picture everyday and wish she was still here. My husband tells me to try and remember the 8 1/2 wonderful years that we had her and try to think of the wonderful life that we gave her but instead I just think of her not being by my side. I have a new puppy now and she is quite a joy and everyone keeps telling her that she has pretty big paws to fill. If she ends up being half of the dog that Sasha was I will have a pretty good pup.

There are so many events and places that can stir your heart like that, but a birthday is by far one of the most powerful.
Sasha knows that you are thinking of her and miss her, but she wouldn't want you to be sad.
It's a perfectly normal thing that humans go through, and time will ease the sadness. The next time you are feeling this way, try to replace that sadness in your heart with the beautiful memories of Sasha, and the ones you are creating now, with your new furry family member. Then go outside, and throw a ball, and I guarantee Sasha will look down on you and smile.
I don't know if this helps or not, but do know that we are out there thinking of you and sending comforting pawprints your way.
Love,
Jerry
