Yes! Thank you Ellen and Joe. Chocolate Kisses was the first blog I read religiously because it was so uplifting. Ellen, your words of encouragement reminding us to never ever give up hope held me through some very dark moments two years ago when we first started this journey. Charley is my hero. This may sound weird but The 28th of each month is a holiday in our house. We celebrated it because it meant we made it another month WITH Charley the Cancer Warrior. I learned to make meat cake to celebrate milestones too. Thank you again for sharing him with the world. He touched so many lives just by smiling.
Thank you so much to both of you from the bottom of my shattered heart. Your posts and pictures brought me to tears while making my heart smile a little knowing how special Charley is to both of you.
I'm going to print off the picture to put in Charley's memory box.
Love to you both!
Hugs and chocolate Labby kisses,
Ellen and her forever Warrior Charley xoxo

Thank you Sally, I couldn't have said it better myself, and your loving thoughtfulness knows no bounds. .....
I wore my pink shirt like this yesterday in honor of Charley and told everyone about him, including my vet when I took Pearl in for an appointment. He was amazed by his story.
Yes, we all loved and will remember Charley always.....
Thinking of you Ellen, and Joe...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Ellen and Joe: I would also like to thank you for sharing Charley's life journey with all of us. His story has showed many of us here that it is possible to give our pups a normal, happy, well-lived life as OSA survivors. He was a true hero and inspired us all - but he was able to be a hero because he had you both by his side all the time, fully committed to giving Charley the best life and the best care possible. Congratulations to you both for a battle well fought, and for being an example for so many people.
hugs from Daniela & Johnnie
Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet. Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues. Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle. October 17: started having seizures. Taking fenobarbital for seizures. April 18: started prednisone.
Sally you got it spot on!!!! The loss of Charley was a huge shock. He is such an inspirational puppy with his brave fight. When Marshall was first diagnosed and I read about Charley who happens to be Marshalls other "book end" it gave me hope that Marshall could be just like him. The hope is what we needed to make the most of Marshalls 15 extra months that we had with him. Thank you for that Charley!!!! Ellen, you know that my heart is broken for you. I'm crying with you. Our book ends are together having a blast!!!! Lots of hugs!!!!!

I love this description of Marshall and Charley, bookends!! That is what I used to call my Polly and Maggie, and now Pearl and Zuzu.....!
I can just imagine both young Charley and Marshall together over the Bridge having endless fun...... Both while here, were absolutely hero pups for sure. 🙂
I also saw Charley's beautiful banner a few minutes ago......such a handsome, happy soul, and neither he nor Marshall will ever be forgotten......
Love,
Bonnie, Angel Polly, Pearl, and Zuzu
Yes Bonnie, lots of book ends hanging out at the Bridge! Those Labes must be outta' control running and whooping it up!
And Marshall, your legacy is especially important for others in this hourney, because you got almost a year and a half with the "no chemo route" Yeah, "Marshall pulling a .Marshall" Good boy Marshall! Our hero!
