Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thank you for sharing this Comet, we just read the news.
Our hearts are broken and we are so sad that his fight is over. But What an honor to be a part of this incredible boy's life. His journey was filled with so much happiness! It's those good times that we will remember with each tear that falls.
Sammy, we will miss you so much.

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

Samson was definitely a warrior. We very much admire him and his family and how you all faced this cancer demon so bravely.
Run free, Samson. I bet you look even more beautiful with your wings!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Thank you so much for posting this - we're so touched! I love the pictures - hard to believe I took them only 4 days ago! Such a great day and such great memories.
The outpouring of love and support is simply overwhelming. All we can say right now is thank you!
We're surprisingly ok - while I don't think anyone is ever prepared for the end, we were as ready as possible. Sam's mets were so aggressive, we always knew (although didn't discuss it) that it was highly likely to be elsewhere in his body. We just feel blessed that we had so much quality time and it didn't manifest itself in a painful way. He had a great life and we believe he was happy to be set free.
Right now, our heads (happy Sam is at peace and proud of ourselves for making our decision) are at odds with our hearts (sad at our loss) which is leaving us hollow. We know it will pass but we just feel empty right now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to this wonderful community. I'm so happy Sam touched so many others as he did us - he was just a cool dude! We will do our best to carry on the lessons he has taught us....we'll make him proud.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. We will be giving thanks for all the amazingly kind people that have supported us on this journey. Bless you all - and bless Sam! Xo
He was a beautiful boy, and we'll miss him so very much!

Dearest Sam-Sam:
Our hearts are void. We feel so sad. Where did you go sweet boy? Is it beautiful in heaven? Beautiful like you?
We want you to know how much you touched our lives ... cause YOU DID! We always felt such a close connection to you ... you were a remarkable creature - a simply extraordinary pup!
We hope you know just how much we love you. We hope we showed you enough love ... we hope you felt it! Cause the hairs on our arms and necks would stand up at the very thought of seeing you when we could! The car rides to Boston were filled with excitement! ... and pulling up in the driveway, and seeing your face ----- WELL ... that was simply the best!
You were so brave -- such an incredible spirit -- and these past 9 months displayed just what a trooper you were!
This THANKSGIVING, we feel gratitude to have been a part of your life ... and we feel so blessed to have had the immense joy of loving you!
You are pure love. Thanks for bringing so much joy to those around you. You will never be forgotten. You will forever remain in our hearts.
We LOVE you always,
Kristin & Tristan xoxoxxo
